The future of energy in VT’s Mad River Valley

Our Mission:
The Mad River Valley Energy Network’s goal is to empower the local community to take responsibility for and ownership of its energy production, consumption and conservation in ways that are harmonious with local values and the natural landscape.

Our initial project is a cooperatively-owned community solar farm in Vermont’s Mad River Valley. This energy production facility will generate power back to our local utility, Green Mountain Power, and credit individual member’s monthly electric bill according to their ownership percentage of the facility

We will begin construction on our phase1 solar photovoltaic project in 2012 and be generating power before October 31, 2012!

HIYA: Just found out how to get in toch with you. I am very interested in participating, live on Roxbury Mtn Road, and would be pleased to contribute to the effort of ownership.

I think your concept is terrific and one I have been paying around with from wind to solar on my property. To be part of a valley wide grid and be energy independent is a great idea. count me in.
